¿Vas a visitar Ámsterdam? Esta ciudad de canales, conocida como “La Venecia del norte” está llena de historia y diversidad y contrastes. Estamos seguros de que te gustará tanto como a nosotros, pero si has llegado hasta aquí es porque te preguntas si hay que dar propina en Ámsterdam. Nosotros hemos vuelto de nuestro viaje por tierras holandesas hace poco, así que ¡te lo contamos todo!
¿Cuánto hay que dar de propina en los restaurantes en Ámsterdam?
En Ámsterdam, no es obligatorio dar propina en los restaurantes. A nosotros nadie nos lo exigió, y por lo que vimos es algo que puedes hacer voluntariamente, así que si quieres mostrar que te ha gustado el servicio o la comida, te recomendamos que dejes entre un 5 y un 10% del importe de la cuenta que vayas a pagar. Eso sí, es probable que en esta ciudad comas mucho en la calle, ya que los puestos y take-away son abundantes. En ese caso no tendrás que dejar propina, piensa que probablemente no la dejarías ni en Nueva York, ya que no te están sirviendo en mesa.
Propina en excursiones o tours por Ámsterdam
Si hablamos de las excursiones, o tours por la ciudad, es común darle propina al guía turístico como reconocimiento por su conocimiento y esfuerzo, sobre todo si hablamos de los famosos free-tours, que de free tienen poco, ya que al final tienes que dar una propina. En este caso, guíate por lo satisfecho que has quedado en el tour, pero no dejes menos de 15-20€, ya que es lo mínimo por invertir 1 hora y media o 2 de su tiempo. No obstante, esto va en función de cada persona, siempre se ve a los típicos turistas “agarrados” que dan 5€, o menos por persona.
Propinas en los hoteles de Ámsterdam
En los hoteles de Ámsterdam nadie te exigirá y/o esperará de ti una propina. Eso sí, si estás contento con el servicio puedes darla, como harías en cualquier otro lugar. Nosotros nos quedamos en un hotel de 4 estrellas del que os hablaremos en otro post, que era un hotel inteligente y podías hacer tú mismo el check-in y el check-out, aunque siempre había alguien para ayudarte.
Otra práctica habitual es dejar propina para el personal de limpieza, aunque lo mismo digo, en muchos hoteles del norte de Europa ya están incentivando al viajero a elegir que no pase el servicio de limpieza durante su estancia, donando una cantidad simbólica a alguna causa benéfica, dándote algún tipo de descuento o simplemente indicando que es bueno para el medio ambiente. Creo que esto es algo que pronto llegará también a España, sobre todo por la escasez de agua.
En definitiva, como te comentábamos, en Ámsterdam no esperarán una propina ya que no es un país que culturalmente está habituado a ello, por eso, si tu presupuesto es ajustado bastará con una sonrisa y un gracias, para que todos queden contentos. ¡Disfruta de esta maravillosa ciudad!, nosotros repetiremos 😉
