Antes de convertirse en un museo, el Sofia History Museum era conocido como “los baños minerales”, “la casa de los baños” o simplemente “los baños centrales”. ¿Por qué era esto? Por la simple razón de que el lugar era utilizado como baño público desde su construcción hasta 1986.
Una de las características más importantes de este lugar es su ubicación ya que se encuentra en un lugar perfecto para los visitantes alrededor de otros lugares de interés turístico. A día de hoy este museo de historia cuenta con algunos de los objetos y artefactos de mayor importancia de la historia de la ciudad y del país.
